our first appointment

Well today was the big day! We had our first doctor's appointment, and let me just say I was pretty nervous. I know I have had all the signs of pregnancy, but really? I just didn't think I could. It was a total fluke. So the doctor came in and did a quick ultrasound. We first saw the sac and he measured him/her. Said everything looked great. Then we were able to see the heart beating. I could not believe it! It was the weirdest feeling. I was so elated. Then I asked if we could hear it yet and he said, "well lets see." Sure enough!! After he left the room Jordan came over and hugged me and I just started bawling.

I know that I am doing everything I am suppose to in my life and my Heavenly Father see's that and has blessed me with this wonderful and remarkable gift. I am so happy, nervous, all of the above!! Thanks to all of you that stopped asking if I was pregnant yet, I think it worked. ;0)

This one you can hear the heart beat.

This second video you can see the heart beating if you look real close

squarefoot garden changes

Angus

So on mother's Day Jordan and I decided to go look at a puppy. He has been wanting one for so long to be a little buddy to our other dog Josie but I didn't really want two dogs. So out of my better judgement we decide to go look at a couple of Labradoodle puppies someone was selling in Syracuse. Well we got there and I fell in love!! What a cute breed they are! We got little angus when he was 8 weeks he is now 12 1/2 weeks and getting huge!! He was 13.5lbs when we got him, now his is pushing 23lbs! He is going to be massive.
(first two pics are at 8 weeks)

(10 weeks)

(the rest are 12 1/2)
(I think in this pic he has a broccoli stem hanging out of his mouth)

squarefoot garden update

So its been a while since I have done the blog thing. I have been super busy and honestly not real motivated to post but I decided I should put some updates on here. As you know from a previous posting we decided to do the squarefoot gardens. Its worked out pretty well with a few minor set backs(dogs can't stay out of them!). My dad and I also started another garden by the house that has about ten tomato plants, watermelon, squash, peppers and an artichoke plant. here are some pics.

(first carrot picked)
(first broccoli picked)

(Artichoke)

(garden my dad helped me with)

(squash)

(tomatoes in the front, peppers to the left)

(see how the cage is bent in?? My puppy did that..)

(These are peas..some were smashed down from the cage)

(This is spicy mix lettuce we didn't like so I pulled it)

Squarefoot garden

Well its been quite a while since I have posted on here! We have been doing some remodeling on our home so my computer was down for a bit. Well Jordan and I decided to do a squarefoot garden this year along with my sis-in-law. We also have a good size plot of dirt that's close to the house we have been preparing for the bigger stuff like watermelon, squash, more tomatoes, ect. As soon as that's finished I'll post it. Well here are some pictures that I took about a week ago. Some of this stuff in here has grown a ton in the past week and I also added a bunch more stuff in the third box like peppers, tomatoes ect. Fun stuff! I am actually going right now to go cut some spinach and some lettuce for tonights dinner!

Funky shaped cages to keep the pests out, namely the dogs...
The big bushy stuff in the back is spinach. Next to it is a strawberry plant that is producing fruit already. In the middle is spicy mix greens which have grown a ton since this picture.

Far left corner is a bell pepper plant that already has a pretty good size pepper on it already. If you notice the wilted plants in the corner those are bell peppers. I planted them and that night it got so cold them couldn't tolerate it. So now there are tomato plants there.

Starting from back left: green beans, broccoli, cauliflower and peas.

Logan Temple

Jordan and I were sealed in the Logan Temple on Saturday the 21st. It was such an amazing and spiritual experience. It was so great to have our friends(don't worry Jared I forgive you ;0) and family there supporting us. I couldn't believe how many people showed up. I was doing pretty good with my emotions until we walked into the sealing room and thats when it hit me. I really don't like to cry in front of people but I just couldn't help it. I ALWAYS cry if I see someone else crying too so I had to make sure that I didn't make eye contact with certain people(Kimm). So we were just about done when all of a sudden my sister-in-law passes out!! It was way scary cause she is pregnant (Don't worry things turned out fine). I guess she was the third pregnant girl to pass out that day. Weird..

Overall this weekend was really great. Friday night we stayed in a motel along with my dad and his wife, my brother and his and their three kids(all of us in seperate rooms of course!). We went out to eat at the CopperMill, which was where we had our luncheon after the temple. I didn't mind eating there twice, the food is soooo good. After that we went and hung out at the motel and played Catch Phrase. Probably my favorite game. My dads wife is so funny to watch try and act out things, she had us rolling.

Well to conclude I just want to say that I am so happy with the changes I have made in my life. This past year has been really packed with great and wonderful things for me. I got in to nursing school(can't wait for it to be over with so I can have my life back),I was baptised February 17th 2008 and met my husband. I have had so much support from my family and friends I just want to say THANK YOU and I love you all!
