20 week appointment

had our 20 week appointment today and it went well for the most part. She didn't want to cooperate. She was in the breach position(bum down) and had the cord between her legs! what a stink! So we went for the "not so pleasant" ultrasound this time to get a better look. She did move around a bit so we could get a peek at her privates and it is 100% a girl! She moves so much these days. At night I will lay down and watch my stomach move around, its a trip. Oh, and I haven't gain a single pound since my 16 week appointment, whew!! I have gained a total of 9 pounds so far and didn't realize it so this time Jordan and I were betting I had gained about 5 since our last appointment.Man was I excited about that! I am right on track where weight gain is concerned. We have our targeted ultrasound on November 3rd. They will look at the baby in more detail to see if everything is working properly, ect. This one will be in 3D so she will look more realistic. Can't wait! This has been so much fun!

(almost 21 weeks)

here are some fun facts to know at 20 weeks: Your baby has grown as big as a banana. (Length: about 6 1/2 inches from head to bottom, and 10 inches from head to heel.)She's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for her digestive system. She's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in her bowels, and you'll see it in her first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

baby's crib

I do know how to put a crib together!!!! I thought for sure I couldn't do this and just wanted to pawn this off on Jordan but he has been doing so much remodeling I decided I better try this one on my own. It took me about two hours but its complete and hopefully safe!

our 16 week appointment

Last Thursday we had our 16 week appointment. I was so anxious for this appointment because I was hoping the baby would cooperate and let us see what the sex was. At first the baby was head down and my midwife said she didnt think we would be able to see the sex. I was so bummed!! I just prayed that she would move around so we could get a glimpse of the goods. After some persuasion and some jaring around we were able to get ONE I repeat ONE chance to see what was hiding between the baby's legs. I was shocked when Machel said,"it looks like a girl". I thought for sure it would be a boy. I kept having these dreams that I had a little boy. She is about 95% sure that it is a girl. But who knows that could change. Take a look for yourself at the photo below. Three white lines are an indicator of female genitalia. I was so excited I went to Carter's after and bought a bunch of girl clothes(left the tags on just in case). We also got a picture of her foot that is about the size of an almond. cute! I have been able to feel her moving around, it is subtle but its the weirdest feeling ever. She weighs five ounces, about the size of a turnip.

"bump" progression

(12 weeks)

I am now 16 weeks pregnant and starting to show, as you can see in the second picture that was taken last night. The top picture was taken when I was 12 weeks. We are so excited to have a baby! It has been an interesting experience so far. I have been fortunate enough not to get sick to the point of throwing up but I do have to eat more often or I get nauseous. Jordan has been really cute he will rub my belly and talk to the baby and tell him/her that he loves them. We go in on Thursday for our appointment and hopefully we will be able to see the sex of the baby this time. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Our second appointment

Well today was our second doctors appointment. For whatever reason I thought I was 13 weeks but it turns out I am only 12 weeks and 2 days so we weren't able to see what sex the baby is yet, ohwell. For a while now I haven't really been able to tell that I am pregnant other than my jeans feeling a little snug around the waist but when she put the ultrasound probe on my stomach and we could see an actually baby kicking around I was sooo happy! He or she has grow tremendously in the past four weeks. You can actually see legs and arms flailing around and an actual profile of a human. how amazing this is! We go back in another four weeks and by then we should be able to tell the sex of the baby. Can't wait!!!

California/Oregon

We had been planning a trip to go see my mom in Mount Shasta California and also to the Oregon coast as soon as I graduated from nursing school. So we packed up the car, got a good nights sleep and headed off at the crack of dawn on our 12.5 hour journey. We first went to my moms and stayed there Thursday then headed off Friday afternoon for my grandpa's house in Central Point Oregon for the evening. Saturday morning we headed off for Gold Beach Oregon for some fun at the beach! We had alot of fun. We stayed at a place called Jott's Resort that is right where the Rogue river and the ocean meet. We only stayed there until Sunday because my mom had to be back to work Monday morning but the time we had there was still fun. Here are some pictures I took.

July 24th

After I got off work Friday evening Jordan annd I went over to his parents house for a bbq and swimming. We had great food. Salmon, steak, chicken, fruit, ect ect. Well we decided to bring our dogs like we usually do. We had them tied up to a tree in the backyard while we all ate our dinner. After that they were able to run free. As soon as it got dark we all went to the front to light fireworks, leaving the dogs in the back. So, they had a grand old time back there with all the left overs! When we got home Jordan noticed our puppys' stomach looked like a basketball! Shortly after he puked all over our carpet, so digusting. The funny thing about this is we now call him Templeton. Here is a clip from Charolettes Web where Templeton the rat goes to the fair and eats all the leftover. Notice his stomach, looked just like Angus's after he feasted. I know he was probably just like the rat frantically running around eating as much as he could before he could get caught. Pretty funny.

our first appointment

Well today was the big day! We had our first doctor's appointment, and let me just say I was pretty nervous. I know I have had all the signs of pregnancy, but really? I just didn't think I could. It was a total fluke. So the doctor came in and did a quick ultrasound. We first saw the sac and he measured him/her. Said everything looked great. Then we were able to see the heart beating. I could not believe it! It was the weirdest feeling. I was so elated. Then I asked if we could hear it yet and he said, "well lets see." Sure enough!! After he left the room Jordan came over and hugged me and I just started bawling.

I know that I am doing everything I am suppose to in my life and my Heavenly Father see's that and has blessed me with this wonderful and remarkable gift. I am so happy, nervous, all of the above!! Thanks to all of you that stopped asking if I was pregnant yet, I think it worked. ;0)

This one you can hear the heart beat.

This second video you can see the heart beating if you look real close
