pregnancy emotions

So this is more of a journal entry than anything but I thought I would go ahead and put it on here. So on Halloween night I was at my in-laws hanging out when someone, a male figure, says to me,"I don't know how to put this lightly, but your getting fat." Now whether he meant it in a bad way or not you don't tell a pregnant girl she is fat.Only a guy would say something so stupid. I ended up going upstairs to talk to my husband about it and just started bawling. Poor Jordan. By this time I just want to go home and bury myself in a pint of icecream, but we had to stay so everyone got to see my red eyes and wonder what the heck was going on. Jordan ended up telling this person that they hurt my feelings and it about killed this person. Well after a while I started feeling better when along comes another male figure, won't name names, and said something along the lines of,"well your sure getting fat." I just lost it right in front of everyone! How embarassing! Man, pregnancy really messes with your emotions for sure. Well, I just have to say that I am so thankful I have a great sister-in-law that made me feel so much better. It is nice to have that kind of support in my life when things don't always seem to go right.

23 week appointment

Well where do I start?? First, we showed up for our appointment at 11:40 but it turns out I messed up and it was at 10:40. Crap! So luckily they were able to reschedule for 1:00 so we decided to go get some lunch. After we ate we had some time to kill so we decided to go through the carwash and wouldn't you know as soon as it got done soaping up our car the dumb thing stopped working!!! So we had to drive around with dried on soap on my car.geez. So we get back to the doctors office and I'm way excited because I have been wanting to see her face in 3D for a while now but as soon as we went to look she burried her face in my placenta and wouldn't budge, what a stink! The only "3D" shot we got of her was the side of her head and her ear. Ohwell, I go again in three weeks so hopefully she will cooperate then. Everything did look great though and she is weighing in at a whoppin 1lb. 3 oz.

bump update..warning! parental advisory suggested

So here I am almost 22 weeks and feeling like I'm going to pop! AND I have heartburn. How on earth am I going to make it to 40 weeks!! My mom insisted on seeing a picture of my belly without the shirt covering, I must be nuts, I look like a cow. Im getting pretty "bootylicious" too. If I get any comments about how big I am I will come to your house and I will cut you! Sorry, little Family Guy humor there. But seriously, no jokes ok? I'm in a fragile state. :0)

(the light is reflecting off my stomach in this one its not a weird patch of discolored skin. Note the the look of unenthusiasm as well?)

20 week appointment

had our 20 week appointment today and it went well for the most part. She didn't want to cooperate. She was in the breach position(bum down) and had the cord between her legs! what a stink! So we went for the "not so pleasant" ultrasound this time to get a better look. She did move around a bit so we could get a peek at her privates and it is 100% a girl! She moves so much these days. At night I will lay down and watch my stomach move around, its a trip. Oh, and I haven't gain a single pound since my 16 week appointment, whew!! I have gained a total of 9 pounds so far and didn't realize it so this time Jordan and I were betting I had gained about 5 since our last appointment.Man was I excited about that! I am right on track where weight gain is concerned. We have our targeted ultrasound on November 3rd. They will look at the baby in more detail to see if everything is working properly, ect. This one will be in 3D so she will look more realistic. Can't wait! This has been so much fun!

(almost 21 weeks)

here are some fun facts to know at 20 weeks: Your baby has grown as big as a banana. (Length: about 6 1/2 inches from head to bottom, and 10 inches from head to heel.)She's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for her digestive system. She's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in her bowels, and you'll see it in her first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

baby's crib

I do know how to put a crib together!!!! I thought for sure I couldn't do this and just wanted to pawn this off on Jordan but he has been doing so much remodeling I decided I better try this one on my own. It took me about two hours but its complete and hopefully safe!

our 16 week appointment

Last Thursday we had our 16 week appointment. I was so anxious for this appointment because I was hoping the baby would cooperate and let us see what the sex was. At first the baby was head down and my midwife said she didnt think we would be able to see the sex. I was so bummed!! I just prayed that she would move around so we could get a glimpse of the goods. After some persuasion and some jaring around we were able to get ONE I repeat ONE chance to see what was hiding between the baby's legs. I was shocked when Machel said,"it looks like a girl". I thought for sure it would be a boy. I kept having these dreams that I had a little boy. She is about 95% sure that it is a girl. But who knows that could change. Take a look for yourself at the photo below. Three white lines are an indicator of female genitalia. I was so excited I went to Carter's after and bought a bunch of girl clothes(left the tags on just in case). We also got a picture of her foot that is about the size of an almond. cute! I have been able to feel her moving around, it is subtle but its the weirdest feeling ever. She weighs five ounces, about the size of a turnip.

"bump" progression

(12 weeks)

I am now 16 weeks pregnant and starting to show, as you can see in the second picture that was taken last night. The top picture was taken when I was 12 weeks. We are so excited to have a baby! It has been an interesting experience so far. I have been fortunate enough not to get sick to the point of throwing up but I do have to eat more often or I get nauseous. Jordan has been really cute he will rub my belly and talk to the baby and tell him/her that he loves them. We go in on Thursday for our appointment and hopefully we will be able to see the sex of the baby this time. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Our second appointment

Well today was our second doctors appointment. For whatever reason I thought I was 13 weeks but it turns out I am only 12 weeks and 2 days so we weren't able to see what sex the baby is yet, ohwell. For a while now I haven't really been able to tell that I am pregnant other than my jeans feeling a little snug around the waist but when she put the ultrasound probe on my stomach and we could see an actually baby kicking around I was sooo happy! He or she has grow tremendously in the past four weeks. You can actually see legs and arms flailing around and an actual profile of a human. how amazing this is! We go back in another four weeks and by then we should be able to tell the sex of the baby. Can't wait!!!
